ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Social media and TV ads are the modern day methods the candidates are using to reach voters.  The St. Louis University art gallery is showcasing some political pieces of the past.

Some of the items include a 1789 tankard featuring George Washington.  There is also an 1816 campaign piece showing James Madison’s image on a piece of tin.

There are more recent pieces as well, including pieces from Barry Goldwater’s campaign, Eisenhower’s race and even a paper dress from the 1968 Nixon election.

University benefactor donated the items, stating they had to be displayed during an election year. The items will go on display October 19th until December 22nd.
