Cardinal Nation Shows Off Redbird Red
ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – If the Cardinals win the NLCS you can expect championship shirts to hit the shelves soon after.
In the meantime some fans are spending money on a variety of different red shirts, hats and gloves. Some go for the official licensed merchandise and others turn to creative twists on the Cardinals success.
Ralph Rockamann owns SportsPrint on Bermuda in north St. Louis County. He`s been to every World Series game involving the Cardinals since 1982 and believes he has a pretty good idea what fans are looking for in a t-shirt or sweatshirt.
‘They want to be happy. They want to have fun and they want to support the St. Louis community and the Cardinals,’ said Rockamann.
Some fans wore red scarves, hats and gloves.
Kathryn Morris wore a stocking cap with the redbird logo on the side. She received a surprise ticket from her friend.
‘Last year I wanted to come and I was in the hospital going through chemo,’ said Morris. ‘So this is her gift to me, being here tonight.’
Morris`s friend, Cathy Hatfield, described the atmosphere at the ballpark like a holiday.
‘October is Christmas if you`re a Cards fan.’
