Cardinals Issue Statement On Lane Goodwin’s Death
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A Cardinals fan suffering from childhood cancer has passed away. The 13-year-old superfan from Kentucky inspired many with his “Prayers for Lane Facebook Page.” People around the world took part in a “Thumbs Up For Lane” campaign to encourage lane.
The St. Louis Cardinals have issued the following statement concerning Lane Goodwin:
“We offer our deepest sympathy to Lane’s family, friends and all who loved him. Lane was a special young man. We have been inspired by his courage, hopeful spirit and selfless heart.”
Many fans on the St. Louis Cardinal’s facebook page are calling for a thumbs up after the national anthem during game 4 of the NLCS. During the game 2 of the NLDS at Busch Stadium on Monday night many fans were brandishing signs saying, #ThumbsUpForLane.
