ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Just one more win, that’s what the St. Louis Cardinals need to make it back to the World Series.  Jon Jay, Matt Holliday, and Yadier Molina each had two hits and two runs batted in to lead the Cardinals to an 8-3 win over the San Francisco Giants 8-3 Thursday. They lead the NLCS series three games to one.

While the team is focused, Cardinals Nation continues to celebrate. Thousands came Downtown early Friday for another pep rally. Mary and her mom, Joan Iriwn, are Cardinals fans from Seattle, WA.  Mom and Dad grew up in St. Louis, so Mary became a Cards fan by osmosis even though she never lived here. The two wanted to come to town during the 2011 playoffs, but Mary’s husband said it was too expensive. This year they came despite the cost.

“My husband will probably kill me for what we spent but it’s worth it. Got to see the guys. They are great,” said Mary Irwin.

Her mother, Joan, added, “The memories…wonderful memories of growing up in Missouri and coming up for the games was something to treasure.”

Mary and her mom were at the game Thursday night and are also going Friday.  As far as World Series tickets, Mary says they`ll probably watch the games on cable.

And even fans far from the stadium are in the spirit. At Lubeley’s Bakery on Watson, the once popular Obama and Romney cookies are no longer top sellers. The Redbirds have taken over.  They can barely keep up with demand as they bake and then decorate more than 1,400 Cardinals themed cookies.  They also have Cardinal cakes.
