ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-A St. Louis landmark has lost one of its own. Mike Karandzieff, co-owner of Crown Candy Kitchen, passed away Thursday after a battle with cancer.  An announcement was posted on Crown Candy Kitchen’s Facebook page :

Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I tell you that after a long battle with cancer, Crown Candy Kitchen lost a great man yesterday – Mike Karandzieff. He will always be a part of this amazing establishment and while he will be sorely missed he will never be forgotten. All you have to do is walk through the doors and know he was a driving force in making Crown Candy what it is today. He touched the lives of almost everyone and everything here!

Words cannot describe what an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend he was. So here’s to you Mike! Bet the malts taste even better in heaven! By the way, way what kind of nuts are on the Pecan Sundae?!?!

As more information becomes available regarding services we will share them. We will be closing the store Saturday evening at 5:00pm and will reopen next week on Tuesday. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers and make everyday count – he did!
