Body Found In Trunk: Man Died From Gunshots

NORTH ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- St. Louis Police discovered a decomposing body in the trunk of a car in the 9000 block of Edna Saturday night. Around 8:30pm, officers responded to a report of a foul smell. Tracing the smell, they found the body in the trunk of a Cadillac on the street.

The victim was able to be identified as Deadrick Sawyer, Jr., from north St. Louis.

The medical examiner has determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm.

The investigation is ongoing.
