Listen To The 9-11 Call Where A Child Abductor Turns Himself In

POPLAR BLUFF, MO.  (KPLR) – You will hear the 911 call made by a kidnapper in Poplar Bluff, as he turned himself into police.   The five year old girl at the center of a massive search even got on the phone to tell police she wanted to go home.

It is a powerful call to hear. Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Shelton called 911 Wednesday to say he was the one police were looking for and the child “Abigail” was OK.

He wanted to give himself up after taking the little girl from her Poplar Bluff home during the night. Shelton went on to say his heart was hurting.

Abigail’s family says Shelton was a complete stranger who entered their home through a window. A woman told police she saw Abigail at Shelton’s home Wednesday morning and he threaten to kill her and the little girl. Police found pictures of Abigail and other children on Shelton’s phone.
