Drivers Migrating Back To Blanchette Bridge

ST. CHARLES, MO. (KTVI) – It might be too much of a good thing.  Drivers taking the Blanchette Bridge this week have enjoyed a commute with few backups.  Now MoDOT is worried that too many divers will return.

On Wednesday traffic was still moving during the evening rush hour but MoDOT reports that a backup stretched east of 270.

‘It really hasn`t been that bad,’ said one commuter.

MoDOT reports that the traffic load on the Blanchette Bridge has increased each day this week.

‘I`ve just been taking the highway but now I guess my secret is out,’ said one Blanchette Bridge driver.

The biggest increase has bee on the Page Avenue extension.

MoDOT says so far the traffic has been moving well and believes it can stay that way if drivers continue to use the alternate routes including Highway 370 and Page.

Here is a look at MoDOT`s traffic counts for the Blanchette and alternate routes.
