Imagine months of planning only to find out you don't have a place for the party. We found three people facing that dilemma.
Kelly Watson planned an anniversary party for her in-laws this month.
Patrice smith booked the Debonaire for her June 2013 wedding reception
And Bill Lentinni says his daughter also selected Debonaire for her June 2013 wedding reception.
None of them will be using the St. Ann facility.
I drove there, and I called them to try to set up a time to make my final payment. And I never got a return phone call. The door was always locked during business hours.
That was mid October. Now the phone is disconnected and the website is down. I tried two different addresses and still couldn't locate the business owners.
I hadn`t heard from anybody, they didn`t call they didn`t write, they didn`t say nothing, they just left.
Patrice worries about losing her five hundred dollar deposit.

I`ve got a thousand dollars that I’m out, I’m angry about that. I`m taking what ever steps I can to protect myself in that area.
Small claims court is an option. But collecting could take some time. I found three filings on case.net.
I did not see a bankruptcy filing however.
I did confirm the Missouri Attorney General's office is reviewing five complaints received in the past few weeks.
I would have recommended more people there because it was nice but now this is bad
Consumers aren't the only ones complaining. Debonaiare offered rental packages that included cakes by wedding wonderland. The owner of that business says Debonaire owes him a couple thousand dollars.
For three years they paid their bill on time, then all of a sudden; about six months ago, things started, they didn`t pay their bill and I had to start asking for their money.
And now the unsuspecting consumer is scrambling.
You can`t book a room a month in advance. It’s just doesn`t work like that. So now we have to contact all of the guests by phone or email or snail mail and let them know that the party`s off.
If you have a contract with Debonaire and you paid a deposit, you should contact the Missouri Attorney General's office and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And dispute the transaction if you paid with a credit card.
