SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Margo Shuler said she found "sick" messages sent by Searl Lee Dunn to her 11-year-old daughter on Facebook.
"They were very sexual and like what you would hear in an adult movie," Shuler said.
Shuler called police.
"We started responding to the messages," She said. "I was posing as my daughter."
Police used the messages as evidence against Dunn. It took a jury took less than 15 minutes to convict him of attempted enticement, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch. Sentencing is set for Dec. 14, 2012.
Dunn convicted of beating a 2-year-old to death back in 1977. He was paroled in 2005, serving 28 years of his 150 year sentence.
"With his priors we believe we will have enough to put him away for good," McCulloch said.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
"I hope he never gets out and is never able to hurt another family," Shuler said.
