Police Officer’s Weapon Stolen From Fairview Heights Home
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI)- Fairview Heights Police are searching for a burglar who broke into a police officer’s home and stole his department issued Glock handgun among other things. The break-in at the Fairview Heights home was reported on November 1, 2012. The police officer works for another jurisdiction.
An investigation determined that the suspects entered the home through a back bedroom window. Aside from the handgun, a personally owned AK-47 rifle, jewelry, and two bullet proof vests were taken from the home.
The name, address, and department of the burglarized officer are being withheld to preserve his anonymity.
Fairview Heights Police are looking for information that could lead to the identification or arrest of a suspect. They are offering a reward of $1,500 for information leading to an arrest. Please call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
