Molina Finishes 4th in NL MVP Voting
Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina finished fourth in the National League Most Valuable player voting behind another catcher, the Giants Buster Posey. Posey received 27 first place votes, while runner up Ryan Braun of the Brewers got three 1st place votes. Molina got the other two 1st place votes. The Pirates Andrew McCutchen finished third in the overall voting, just ahead of Molina. A National League catcher won the MVP award for the first time since 1972 when Johnny Bench won the MVP. Molina’s fourth place finish was the highest by a Cardinals catcher since Tim McCarver finished 2nd in 1967.
