MONTGOMERY, AL (WAKA) - Alabama Governor Robert Bentley spares a turkey from this thanksgiving season. "Clyde" the turkey was given a pardon at the Governor's mansion Wednesday. The turkeys came from the Bates family farm in Greenville. They have been providing the turkeys for 63 years. Even though Clyde escaped the dinner table, no one knows if his friend Henrietta will be as lucky!
"I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. You don't have to worry about buying presents you just get together and love each other as a family and celebrate together and we're thankful for all wonderful things that God provides for us." said Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley.
The governor says he's happy to carry on the Thanksgiving tradition.
