CINCINNATI, OH - The "Son Of Beast" wooden roller coaster has been demolished at King's Island amusement park. The coaster took 8 seconds to tear down in this video. The ride started to be dismantled in October. It has been vacant since 2009 and was built in 20001.
Park officials say the coaster is being taken down to make room for an expansion.
According to the King's Island blog "Son of Beast "was made of 1.65 million total feet of timber. If you laid the wood end to end it would measure 312 miles. Or, the distance from Kings Island to Wrigley Field in Chicago.
