Kirkwood Beats Fort Osage, Wins First Football Championship
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Both teams in Friday’s Class 5 Missouri State Championship football game wanted the same thing: a first ever football state title for their school. The Kirkwood Pioneers took on the Fort Osage Indians from Independence, MO. Kirkwood held off a second-half push and pulled away late for a 31-7 victory Friday to capture the Class 5 state title at Edward Jones Dome.
Kirkwood has made it to the state championship game three of the last seven years. A pep rally celebration is being planned.
