Slay, Reed File For St. Louis Mayor
ST. LOUIS (AP) – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is officially seeking a fourth term, and he’ll face a primary challenge against aldermanic president Lewis Reed.
Both men filed for office Monday, the first day of filing for next year’s election. Both are Democrats in a city that almost always elects Democrats. The primary is March 5. Candidates have until the first week of January to file for office.
A third Democratic candidate, the Rev. Jimmie Matthews, also filed on Monday.
