Suspected Car Thief With A Meth Problem Shot After Police Chase
PACIFIC, MO (KTVI) – A 31-year-old man was shot by a Franklin County Deputy Thursday.
Timothy Kalter was spotted by a deputy in a stolen Mustang, according to authorities. A deputy approached the vehicle and a confrontation followed.
The deputy shot Kalter twice. However, he was able to get in the car and lead police on a high speed chase. It ended at Highway 100 and Pacific.
Kalter was airlifted to a hospital.
Rick Kalter, Timothy’s brother, said a bullet was lodged in his lung.
“He is sedetaed, and police will not even let us see him,” Kalter said. “My brother is not a bad person, he has a meth problem.”
