Man Convicted Of Killing Wife 20 Years Ago

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A northeast Missouri man has been convicted of killing his wife and stuffing her body in a septic tank on their farm 20 years ago.

Betty Ann Howery disappeared from her rural home in Pike county in 1992. Workers cleaning up the property in 2008 found her remains in a cistern. Her husband Douglas Howery was arrested in 2009.

A jury in Audrain county found him guilty of first-degree murder. Sentencing is set for February 4th.
