BRENTWOOD, MO (PATCH) – Kevin Stephens, 27, of Chesterfield, faces criminal charges for hitting another player in the face with a hockey stick during a game. The victim’s jaw was broken in several places and needed 17 permanent screws as a result of the assault.
The ice hockey players were playing on October 14th during a recreational game at the Brentwood Recreation Complex. Police say Stephens swung his stick at the player during a no contact game of league hockey. The assault happened during the game, but not during regular play.
Stephens has been charged with second degree assault. He has posted a $50,000 cash bond and was released from police custody on Friday.
