WENTZVILLE, MO. (KTVI) – A police standoff in Wentzville ended peacefully after more than 3 hours, Monday night.
Wenztville Police gave this account:
A woman living on Marshall Drive near Perry Cate Boulevard in the Stone Meadow subdivision called police around 6:30 p.m., saying her adult son was threatening to hurt himself. Police believed he’d barricaded himself in the basement and was armed. Wentzville Police, Firefighters, and St. Charles County SWAT team responded. They proceeded with great caution, concerned the man could hurt himself, officer, or neighbors. Police surrounded the home and closed a portion of Perry Cate. Repeated attempts to contact the man were unsuccessful. Around 9:45 p.m., police apprehended the man. He was not in the basement. Officers found him walking down the street. They transported him to a hospital for observation. No one was hurt.
There was on word on possible charges.
