Suspect Shot By Police In North County
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– Police are investigating after an officer-involved shooting in North St. Louis County.
The shooting happened after St. Louis County police responded to a suspicious person call around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 10,000 block of Lilac.
Investigators say residents called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious person dressed in dark clothing walking around houses.
When the first officer arrived on the scene he approached a young man in his early to mid-twenties who matched the description.
Police say when the officer tried to arrest the man he pulled out a gun. There was a struggle. The officer was able to pull his own weapon and shoot the suspect.
The suspect does not have life threatening injuries.
The officer was not hurt.
