The store`s manager said the clerks always lock the doors to the convenience store at 1:30 every morning. But, she also said that was too late to avoid a horrific night for one of her employees.
It was 12:41 a.m. The manager said the Circle K employee was alone in the convenience store on South Broadway at East Davis Street. Two young men walked in the store - each holding handguns -- and demanded money. City police said they took about $150. According to the manager, the employee saw the men walk outside and around the back of the store. City police called in K-9 officers who lost the suspects` scent after a short search. The store`s manager thinks the men got away in a waiting car.
She also said there is surveillance footage of the robbery. But, the car may have been parked far enough away from the store that the video cameras could not record any images of the vehicle.
This is the description of the suspects given to us by City police and the Circle K manager.
• The 2 African-American suspects were black males in their late teens or early 20s.
• One of the suspects was slender, the other had a heavier build.
• Both were wearing bandanas or scarves around their faces.
• Both were wearing gloves.
