Train Derails In Mount Vernon, IL

MOUNT VERNON, IL (KTVI)-  A train went off the tracks early Sunday in Mount Vernon, IL, near Liberty Road and Rackaway. Police say eight cars derailed. One was releasing ethanol. The fire department’s Hazmat team is on scene and handling the clean up.

There have been no evacuations or injuries reported, but police are asking residents to avoid the area until clean up is completed.
