ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Crews on both sides of the Mississippi River were still keeping an eye on roads Tuesday morning, even after the snow stopped falling.
Plows can move snow but the moisture left behind that can be a little tougher. Still, that moisture had to go if MoDOT is going to keep drivers moving safely.
Two hundred trucks hit Missouri roads and many of them put down chemicals to either keep the roads from icing or help dry up the moisture before the temperatures dropped below freezing.
Bridges and overpasses got a little extra attention because there is no soil underneath to provide insulation from the cold.
