PETA Protests Possible Possum Drop
BRASSTOWN, NC (FOX NEWS) – the annual new year’s eve possum drop in Brasstown, North Carolina had a mysterious element this year. A possum was dropped at midnight. But there was a question about whether it was a live possum or not, and if not, what was inside the box.
Last month, a judge sided with the animal right’s group PETA and said the North Carolina Wildlife Commission didn’t have the authority to grant a permit for the event. Organizers had to decide whether to use a stuffed possum or a roadkill possum. The decision was a secret.
One attendee says it doesn’t really matter what was inside the box. Everyone had fun.
