Vladimir Tarasenko – From Russia with Hype

(KTVI) – Russian phenom Vladimir Tarasenko will make his NHL debut this Saturday against Detroit at the Scottrade Center. The 21 year old winger actually grew up a Red Wings fan because his favorite player was fellow Russian star Sergei Federov.

“The Tank,” as Tarasenko is called, will start the season on a line with veteran forwards Alex Steen and Andy McDonald.

Nearly two and a half years after the Blues selected him 16th overall in the 2010 draft, Tarasenko is ready for the NHL.
