LAS VEGAS, NV (AP) – Tanya Angus, 34, died Monday of a rare disorder that made her grow to 7 feet 2 inches tall. She weighed about 400 pounds.
According to the Associated Press, Angus’ height during her teenage years was 5 feet 8 inches and more similar to her peers.
Following her teenaged years, her disorder, known as acromegaly, accelerated her growth due to a tumor on her pituitary gland. The condition made life more difficult for Angus, causing her to need specially made clothes and accessories.
Before her death, Angus became an advocate for others suffering from the same condition by making television appearances to talk about her experiences.
