Man Forces His Way Into South City Home

SOUTH ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- A man is under arrest after he forced his way into a south St. Louis home.  According to St. Louis Police, the 62 year old suspect went to the home in the 3700 block of Meramec, not far from Grand Blvd, around 1:40am Saturday. The people inside refused to let him in.  That’s when the suspect shot through the door three times and kicked it open.

A 29-year old woman & and 34-year old man ran out the back door of the home and called 9-1-1.  Another 29 year old woman struggled with the suspect and was able to disarm him. He fled the scene.

The victims in the case knew the suspect.  Police located him nearby and took him into custody.

The woman who struggled with the gunman did suffer some lacerations on her head and hands. No one else was injured or wounded. There were two infant children in the home.

The investigation is ongoing.
