Mizzou’s Frank Haith Facing Ethics Charge From Miami Days

Frank Haith

COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI) – Missouri’s head basketball coach Frank Haith could face NCAA charges of unethical conduct from his days in Miami.

CBSSports.com reports the findings of the NCAA could come out this week. Haith is the former head coach of the Miami Hurricanes basketball team.

The charges stem from 2011 scandal in which a Miami booster, Nevin Shapiro, says he gave money to football and basketball players at Miami. But it has not been proven that Haith or any of his staff had anything to do with it.

However, according to CBS Sports.com, the NCAA plans to charge Haith with unethical conduct and failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance because they did not believe his story about using money to pay assistants for camp services.   The report also says there was no proof that Haith was aware of payments to a player.

Shapiro is serving a 20-year sentence in a $930 million Ponzi scheme.
