Ireland Approves Drunk Driving Permits
IRELAND (KTVI) – A controversial measure that would allow drunk drivers to get driving permits was approved by the Kerry City Council on Tuesday, according to The HuffingtonPost.com.
The measure would give a special permit for driving in sparsely populated areas while intoxicated. Five council members voted for the measure while three others voted against it.
The bill’s sponsor, Councillor Danny Healy-Rae argued said people who drank and drove in rural areas had “never killed anyone.”
