Welfare Lottery Ban Proposed In North Carolina
(KTVI) – The Christian Post reported on January 25th of this year, that the state of North Carolina is considering prohibiting residents on Food Stamp, from participating in the state’s lottery. The Christian Post reports that the state has 1.7 million people on welfare.
A state representative, Paul Stam had this to say, “We’re giving them welfare to help them live, and yet by selling them a ticket, we’re taking away their money that is there to provide them the barest of necessities.”
