(CNN) – At 83 years old, journalist Barbara Walters has been hospitalized for a childhood disease. According to ABC News, Walters has the chicken pox.

She has been feeling down and out for more than a week after falling off a stair at an inauguration party and cutting her forehead.

The fall sent her to the hospital, where Walters’ temperature spiked and doctors diagnosed her with chicken pox.

She was transferred from a Washington hospital to one in New York. Last week Walters released a statement thanking people for all the calls and concern.
