Puppy Bowl(CNN) – The Labrador retriever remained the most popular dog in the US last year. At least, that’s what the American Kennel Club says.

It released its list of most popular breeds in 2012 Wednesday.  2012 marked the 22nd consecutive year that the Lab has topped the list tying it with the poodle for the longest reign in the top spot.

German shepherd’s earned second place on the list, followed by the golden retriever, the beagle and the bulldog.
