Semi Driver Dies After Truck Slides Off Highway

FENTON, MO (KTVI)- Firefighters worked hard in the cold temperatures to free a trapped semi driver after a tractor trailer slid off the highway and jack-knifed. The crash happened on the on-ramp to I-270 from eastbound I-44, just past the Meramec River bridge.

The driver was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Rescue workers attempted to save the driver’s life. Their efforts were unsuccessful.

It is likely that slick roads from the overnight snow contributed to the crash.
