(KTVI) – Guys, if you’re trying to have a baby, you better put down that remote control. A new study shows men who watch more than 20 hours of television a week had a sperm count that was 44 percent lower than others.
That’s according to an study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
And while regular exercise was shown to boost sperm count, excessive television watching can counteract the positive effects.
In the study, men who worked out moderately for 15 hours or more per week had a higher sperm concentration than those who worked out less than 5 hours a week. Men who watch 20 hours of television or more per week had half the sperm concentration as men who didn’t watch television.
