ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – One person is in custody after a brief Missouri Highway Patrol chase ended when the suspect’s car crashed into three different vehicles.
Turns out the car the suspect was in was stolen out of St. Louis County Tuesday.
It all went down about 9:10am Wednesday.
Missouri Highway Patrol spokesperson Sergeant Al Nothum says a trooper was on Interstate 44 West at Jefferson when he noticed a maroon Dodge Charger weaving in and out of traffic in his rear view mirror.
Nothum tells us the Charger blew by the trooper who hit his lights and sirens trying to pull the car over.
We’re told the Charger didn’t stop. Instead, the driver got off at the nearby Hampton exit where he hit two cars as he turned onto busy Hampton Avenue.
But he wasn’t done yet. Nothum says the suspect kept on going and then crashed head on into a pick-up truck waiting to turn into the city Street Department. That’s where the trooper arrested the suspect.
Incredibly, no one was seriously hurt. In fact, no one was even transported to a hospital.
The man who was in the pick-up truck did not want to speak on camera, but says everything happened very quickly and the trooper literally pulled the suspect out of the window of the car.
Charges are now pending.
