Travelers Still Booking Cruises After Triumph Incident

BRENTWOOD, MO (KTVI)– A local travel agent specializing in cruises says she thinks the management of Carnival Cruise lines did a poor job handling the failure of the Triumph.

Stephanie Turner, the owner of Brentwood Travel, says she thinks all cruise lines need to look at how to create more reliable back-up systems, especially for electricity and plumbing, to better care for passengers in the event of a power failure.

But despite all the bad publicity, she says her agents are still getting calls from travelers interested in booking a Carnival Cruise.

Travel experts say in the coming days, you can expect to see Carnival offering big discounts trying to entice passengers who might be put off by all the bad publicity.
