Blues Top Flames 5-2, Allen Again In Net

(KTVI) – The St. Louis Blues appear to be back on track after winning their second game in a row. It was convincing victory against the Calgary Flames Friday night, 5-2. The Blues scored four of their five goals in the first period.

David Perron scored two goals. Alex Steen added a goal and two assists. The Blues’ back-to-back wins snap a five-game losing streak. The Blues beat Detroit in overtime Wednesday night.

Rookie goalie Jake Allen started in net again for the Blues and stole the show with a tremendous stop in the first period.  Allen was caught out of position when Flames defenseman TJ Brodie streaked towards the empty net. But Allen reached out to knock the puck out of midair. It hit the top of the net and dropped into Allen’s glove.

St. Louis is now 8-5-1 on the season.
