ST. CLAIR COUNTY, IL (KTVI)-A trusted martial arts instructor is accused of sexually abusing a young boy he was instructing at a Belleville, IL martial arts studio.  Christopher M. Horton, 20, who is from Highland, is charged with seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Prosecutors say he may have repeatedly assaulted the child between May and October of last year. Horton allegedly sodomized the young boy and forced the child to commit other sexual acts.

Horton was charged in St. Clair County.  He is being held on $5 million bond. He has also been charged with two federal counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

On his Facebook page, Horton indicates he works for the Three Tigers Martial Arts Studio on Mascoutah Avenue in Belleville.

On the website, RateMyKarateInstructor.com, parents sang the young man's praises, noting how well he worked with his students and how well they responded to his instruction.  The last post like that was in August 2012.  But on Saturday morning, after news of the charges broke, a person posted "It shows the true power of the internet to hold up a guy like this….  Please take him down from here!"
