Arkansas led by McCluer North alum B.J. Young came back to defeat the Missouri Tigers 73-71 on Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Young scored six points in the game’s final minute to spark the Razorbacks comeback. The Tigers had gotten off to a quick 9-0 lead and led by four at halftime. The game tightened up in the second half. Arkansas actually led by eight at one point, 56-48. Mizzou would come back to tie the game on an Earnest Ross three pointer to knot the score at 63-63. The Tigers held a 70-66 lead with just 34 seconds left before Young’s pair of basket plus foul three point plays gave Arkansas a 72-71 lead. Jabari Brown’s three point shot was long at the buzzer, so the Tigers come up two points short. Keion Bell scored a season high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds to led Mizzou in scoring. Laurence Bowers struggled all day, scoring just two points on 1 of 10 shooting. Arkansas was led in scoring by Marshawn Powell and his 24 points. B.J. Young was next in line with 18 points for the Razorbacks. The loss drops Missouri’s record to 18-7 overall and 7-5 in the SEC.
