Crash Kills Driver, Injured Two In Sauget

SAUGET, IL (KTVI)-A woman was killed in an overnight car crash in Sauget, IL.  Emergency crews responded to the fatal accident on Yellow Brick Road around 3:00am Sunday.

According to police, three women, two sisters and a friend, got lost traveling from Laclede’s Landing to their home in Ballwin, MO.  They took a wrong turn and ended up in Sauget.  The driver, identified as Brooke Bahmler, 24, attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of an oncoming Jeep.

Bahmler died on the way to the Touchette Hospital in Centerville. Her sister and other passengers were taken to Saint Louis University hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, Bahmler was the designated driver and they do not believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
