THURSDAY:

CLOUDS AND COLD WITH SNOW…THEN MIXING WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN…THE CORE…LATE MORNING AND AFTERNOON
WINDS: EAST 10-25 M.P.H.

THURSDAY NIGHT:

THE MIX COMES TO AN END…BY MIDNIGHT…WINDY AND COLD…NO EXTREME COLD…TOTAL SNOW IN STL…3 INCHES SPOTS TO 4″…MORE AS YOU HEAD NORTH…LESS GOING SOUTH.

LOW: 28 DEGREES.

FRIDAY:

MOSTLY CLOUDY, BREEZY AND COLD
WINDS: WEST 10-20 M.P.H.

THE WEEKEND IS QUIET…RAIN MOVES IN FOR MONDAY…MAYBE ENDING AS A TOUCH OF WET SNOW MONDAY NIGHT

THE WEATHER DISCO:

ITS ALL ABOUT THE SOUTHWEST STORM ON THURSDAY…ROLLING UP AND OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE NATION…THE DYNAMICS OF THIS SYSTEM ARE VERY IMPRESSIVE…AND NOW CONCERNS ABOUT THUNDER GETTING INTO THE SYSTEM…ESPECIALLY STL AND POINTS SOUTH…STILL LOTS OF QUESTIONS EVEN AT THIS POINT…PLEASE STAY UP TO DATE.
…THERE IS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF COLD AIR LOCKED IN PLACE OVER US…HEAVY, COLD AIR…THAT WILL BE SLOW TO DIG OUT AND THIS SYSTEM NEVER DIGS IT ALL OUT…SO WE GET INTO COLD STUCK AT THE SURFACE AND WARM AIR FLOWING UP FROM THE SOUTHEAST ALOFT…CREATING A REAL IMBALANCE IN THE ATMSOPHERE AND IN TURN A REAL MIX OF WINTER’S MOISTURE…BUT IT WILL BE WINTER’S MOISTURE DUE TO THE DAM OF COLD AIR…A REAL INTERESTING WINTER SET UP…GREAT FUN FOR FORECASTING! THE TIME LINE…THE CORE OF THIS WILL BE MID TO LATE MORNING ON THURSDAY…THAT IS WHEN IT GETS GOING AND ALL AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING…HEAVIEST IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS…WINDS PICKING UP THURSDAY NIGHT AS THE LOW ROLLS BY
.
AS FOR THE AMOUNTS…THIS IS BY FRIDAY MORNING…METRO ST. LOUIS AND POINTS WEST AND EAST…NEW HAVEN, ST. CHARLES, TO ALTON, COLLINSVILLE TO CARLYLE…1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW..BUT LIKING THE HIGH SIDE OF THAT…3″…SPOTS TO 4″…WITH THUNDER CONCERNS…ALSO WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ADDED ON TOP OF THAT…TO THE NORTH…ALL SNOW…BOWLING GREEN, TROY, WHITE HALL…4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW…THEN SOUTH…SALEM, CUBA, DE SOTO, PARK HILLS, SPARTA AND MT. VERNON…ALL A MIX OF SNOW, SLEET, ICE AND PLAIN
.
THE GOOD NEWS FOR US…IT WILL START AS SNOW…THEN THE SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL MIX IN..AS THE WARM AIR ALOFT DIGS INTO THE COLD AT THE SURFACE…THIS IS BETTER FOR THE ROADS…INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

.FRIDAY LOOKS QUIET AS DOES THE WEEKEND…ANOTHER SYSTEM FOR MONDAY-TUESDAY…THE NEW EURO RUN IS LOOKING VERY INTERESTING WITH THIS SYSTEM…AT LEAST GETS MY ATTENTION…ALOT IS RAIN…BUT NOW THINKING THERE MAY BE MORE SNOW ON THE BACKEND OF THE SYSTEM…MORE STORMS BEHIND THAT…VERY ACTIVE INTO EARLY MARCH
