Snow Day Equals Sledding At Art Hill
ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – They were up early at Art Hill today to take advantage of what some are calling, namely me, the sticky bun snowstorm of 2013.
‘I just go for it,’ says Milla Warren. ‘Just find a good spot and just go down the hill.’
For these three from O’Fallon, it’s off the beaten trail in Forest Park.
But not for these sledders who took to the slope of this famous hill.
‘Its fun,’ says Daisha Barber. ‘Its fun and I like snow.’
You couldn’t have fun on February 21, it was too miserable to get a good sled in.
But you didn’t have to be John Fuller to know that this snow had just the right consistency.
‘It has good speed,’ says Matt Dorsey describing his ski sled he built. ‘How’s the control?’ asks Patrick Clark.
Not so good,’ says Dorsey before taking off down the hill.
Every mode of movement, in motion on this day.
‘And with that many people there’s bound to be a collision,’ says Patrick Clark..
Which is why this guy sought some solitude.
‘I like it sitting here because I get to see the fountains and the museum and it gives me a good perspective on the whole park without getting involved in what`s going on,’ says Robert Guthrie.
Yup, it was a good day in St. Louis, sharing the season with a communal time in the cold.
