JUPITER, FL – The Miami Marlins got off to a fast start against Trevor Rosenthal and went on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-3 Saturday at Roger Dean Stadium. It was the first game of Spring Training for both teams.

The Marlins scored four runs in the first two innings.

The Cardinals David Freese homered in the second inning off Miami's John Maine, a non-roster invitee vying for that team’s fifth-starter spot.

Rosenthal threw 45 pitches.
