In his 400th career Nascar race, Jimmie Johnson won his second Daytona 500. JJ in the #48 car led just 17 laps of the great race, but he led the most important, the final lap. Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, with Mark Martin coming in third. Danica Patrick, who was the pole sitter for the race, becoming the first woman racer in Nascar history to hold a pole in a Sprint Cup race, finished a respectable 8th.
