CAMDEN POINT, MO – Mark and Cindy Hill are giving away their half of the biggest Powerball lotto jackpot in US history. They won $587 million in November and got $136.5 million in a lump-sum payment after taxes.

Reuter’s News reports that the Hills are giving the money to fund civic projects in Camden Point, Missouri. ¬†They live in nearby Dearborn, Missouri. The family is paying for a fire station and ball field. They also are donating more money to build a sewage system for the town.

Camden Point has fewer than 500 residents and is wedged into hills in a rural area about 30 miles north of Kansas City. Its downtown has a series of mostly empty brick buildings.
