(KTVI) – Former US Surgeon General C. Everett Koop has died. Koop passed away at his New Hampshire home Monday from undisclosed causes. Koop was an outspoken Surgeon General on the dangers of smoking and AIDS.
Koop endorsed abstinence, condoms, and sex education to stop the spread of disease. He is survived by his wife, three children and eight grandchildren. Koop was 96 years old.
