ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– St. Louis city police are training to get animal abusers off the streets.
St. Louis city police and others are learning how to identify illegal dog fighting and some of the tools that are use.
On Tuesday, the ASPCA was at the St. Louis City Police Academy to show how some are breaking the law with organized dog fights.
They are also learning investigative techniques.
The organization says at least 1 in 10 Americans may know someone involved in illegal blood sports.
Trainers showed evidence from dog fighting rings and showed a t-shirt supporting the illegal activity.
