TROY, MO (KTVI)– Mist shrouded much of Lincoln County Tuesday as temperatures remained above freezing much of the daytime. The western edge of the county took the brunt of the overnight snowfall registering up to six inches of wet, heavy snow. About one inch fell in Troy, the county seat.
MODOT and Lincoln County road crews had the highways clear by early afternoon. Most schools were closed for the day in anticipation of more snow than actually fell.
The local Orscheln Farm and Home store had run out of ice melt and snow shovels by 2pm. Bags of salt crystals for water softeners were still available as were waterproof boots.
