Study: Mediterranean Diet Better For Avoiding Heart Attack; Stroke

Low-fat or Mediterranean, which diet is better for your heart?

Researchers in Spain tracked people on each diet for five years.

The winner?  The Mediterranean diet, especially one with a lot of extra-virgin olive oil.

That group’s risk of having a heart attack, stroke or dying of heart disease was 30 percent lower than the group that ate a low-fat diet.

The New England Journal of Medicine has the study online today.
